3106433 - Warning message: " Copying item XX not possible; configuration from Product – contract to Spare part - engineer pick-up or sales missing"

  1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
  2. Select New Service Order from the Common Tasks.
  3. Click the Create with Reference button and select in the Reference Type field Contract.
  4. Select the Value Help for the Reference ID field.
  5. Select the reference id XYZ (XYZ represents the id of the contract).
  6. Click on the Enter button.
  7. You can see that the general data is taken over but the some items are not and the following warning messages are displayed:

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Select the Contract view.
  3. Search for and select Contract ABC (ABC stands for the contract ID).
  4. Click Follow-up and choose Service Order.
  5. warning message is raised on the New Service Order screen:

Cause

Currently, the materials in Contract has to be consumed via sales order ( item type : Product - Contract ) and we do not allow these to be consumed in a service order.

To consume materials in service scenarios we have entitlement item types in Contracts where materials can be added as "Entitled Product" . This also however will not be copied automatically on a follow up. This material item also will have to be added manually in the service order and then assignments to contract item can be done on the service order item.

This is the current system behaviour.
